Accessory Pin Resistances
Are there any other known accessory ping resistances? I basically want to build a line-in device for my ipod. Itself, this isn't a tough project - but figuring out the resistance that will enable voice recording is tricky.
I've noticed there are some breaks in the resistance - IE it might seem resonable to assume that 5 kΩ, 50 kΩ, 100 kΩ, etc, represent different accessories. Does anyone know what voice recording is? Would it be safe to try through trial and error?
Connectors from JAE
The connectors from JAE do not fit the Video iPod. I'm not sure where to get docking connectors that fit the Video iPod. Does anyone else know? --Mikefromaudio
- I don't know where you can get them but this image explains how you have to modify it that it fits.

I bought these connectors (JAE type) based on the informatoin on this page. I didn't see the little note at the top about it not working, so I made it more clear at the bottom where the part numbers are listed. --Daniel Hooper 18:55, 10 Feb 2006 (CST)
Orientation Reference
While there's a good pinout reference here, it could be useful to know which end is up on both connectors, as well as the orientation of the connector to determine pin one, not everyone here is a hardware hacker, after all. --Ice 06:00, 21 Jul 2006 (CDT)
Connectors for the G5
The connectors at http://home.swipnet.se/ridax/connector.htm DO fit the G5 iPod and all other (dock connector) iPods, without modification.
Plus and minus
What is meant by the plus (+) and minus (-) after the different pins? HonestAbe 21:55, 28 Jun 2007 (CDT)
