I have not been keeping up with ipl much lately, on top of that I'm not even sure if this script works anymore or if anyone really uses it. So, at least for the time being, this script is unsupported by me.

Get it!

If you have found any bugs with it you can email me at atheism@(googles email).com Alternatively (and maybe preferably) you can try me (Daishi) in #ipodlinux@freenode.

It does the following:

./ipl_linux_installer.sh

To Install IPL do: ipl_linux_installer.sh --install
To Restore your iPod do: ipl_linux_installer.sh --restore
To Backup your iPod do: ipl_linux_installer.sh --backup
To Upgrade your iPod do: ipl_linux_installer.sh --upgrade or --upgrade-kernel | --upgrade-podzilla

A few points:

  • It works now!
  • Its --restore is NOT the same as Apples restore utility. If you need to fix a broken iPod look here.
  • It should work with Mac (HFS+) iPods now. (Testing would be very much appreciated)
  • The code (script?) itself is sorta messy.
  • It uses nightly builds.
  • The nightly-retrieving code was improved, it should now work properly.
