Hello all,

I have a question, not related to iPodLinux, but about
the related hardware, so I belive it can be best answered here.
It is about iPhone 3G communicating with Honda iPod adapter.

The adapter manual says, when iPod is connected to it,
all iPod controlls are disabled. When I connect iPhone
to the adapter, touch screen and buttons remain usable.
But when I start iPod application, it only shows a message
"accessory connected". I want to listen music through the adapter,
but I want to control iPod application from the iPhone touchscreen.

I read the documentation in the Wiki, and I got the imagination,
that adapter should be sending some mode switching command
over Apple Accessory Protocol?

Based on this assumption I whant to try to disconnect pins 17 and 18.
The problem is, once I cut pins the repair will be impossible.

Can someone tell me, if my assumption is (or appear to be) correct,
if I should take a knife and cut adapter pins, and if there is a better solution?

Thanks in advance for every helpful answer!
B.M.
